ABOUT US

VISION

“The Greater Raritan Workforce Investment Board envisions a well-functioning workforce investment system that is customer-focused and responsive to the needs of the community. The One-Stop Career System, in collaboration with its partners, will make available a wide array of employment-related programs and services that facilitate the potential of all job seekers for self-sustaining employment at a level consistent with the standards of the community’s rapidly growing corporate sector. Resources will be managed in an effective and efficient manner that supports the full development of the comprehensive One-Stop and addresses the workforce needs of local employers.”

MISSION STATEMENT

“The mission of the GRWIB is to leverage effective leadership and partnerships among business, labor, government, social service, local education and community groups to create and support a one-stop efficient, customer focused and market-driven workforce development system.” This is accomplished by:

  • Overseeing the direction of funding sources for an outcome which promotes a high quality, competitive workforce;
  • Serving as a unifying agent for the dual County business sector, especially for small and medium sized businesses;
  • Fostering high-skill-wage jobs for all populations;
  • Providing economic leadership for the two counties

This ensures that both employers and residents of Somerset and Hunterdon counties are provided with the services needed to successfully meet employer’s hiring needs while identifying viable job opportunities for residents. 

GOALS

  1. “To produce qualified well-trained workers who will succeed in today’s competitive workforce” through a cooperative effort between Somerset and Hunterdon counties.”
  2.  “To work with local elected officials to oversee and direct the services being provided by the One-Stop system.”

VALUES AND GUIDING PRINCIPLES

  • To provide services which enhances the customers’ ability to successfully transition to work or enhance their current employment.

  • To provide easy access to programs and services.

  • To provide support from professional and informed staff.

  • To constantly measure results and performance

  • To ensure the customers long-term employability

  • To be responsible for guiding and overseeing the One-Stop Operator

  • To embrace a wide range of customer needs by having the One-Stop System serve as an all inclusive entity.
